We’ve been told that “this summer we should prepare to experience night life on a whole new level… an after hours playground, the likes of which Canberra has never seen before.” Well polish up your dancing shoes, Academy finally opens tonight. Those of us that had to walk past the building site every day over the last 6 months will be glad we no longer have to dodge dangling cables, sidestep plasterers and painters, or manoeuvre a maze of scaffolding and other hardware. The club now looks like it should… all shiny, sparkling and gleaming.
Academy’s events and marketing manager, Chris (I forget his other name, F something), assures us we’re in for a pleasant surprise. Academy’s opening weekend is sure to please as you could just about spend the entire long weekend there… I reckon I’ll head in tomorrow night, so if you see me and wanna let me sneak into your possie in the queue, I’ll happily buy you a drink…
